The Priorat region is steeped in history, the monks from the Carthusian Monastery of Escaladei have been cultivating grapes for over six centuries. The mountainous topography has ensured that wine making methods have remained unchanged, the result are specatular wines with a rounded structure and a fresh mineral quality.
Alvaro Palacios arrived to the region in 1989 with the intent on extracting the very best from this unique terroir, this lead to his cultivating multi award winning wines such as Les Terrasses and L'Ermita.
18/20 - "Palacios was one of the pioneers who revived Priorat, and was bold enough to charge serious prices for his wines. This leads with Cariñena and finishes with dark fruit and graphite. Very long." -Decanter Magazine, November 2014
