Bortolomiol Prosecco 'Bandarossa' Half Bottle

Availability: In stock

The bouquet is rich and enormously pleasurable. The fragrance is of mature fruit: an aroma of powdery yellow apple and pear stands out while there are also gentle shades of citrus sweet, fine flowery hints. The creamily sparkling palette does not disappoint as it’s well moulded into the sugar residue.

More information:
The wine estate dates back to the mid 18th Century when Bartolomeo Bortolomiol started to grow grapes on the hillsides of Valdobbiadene. He passed on his passion to his son Giuliano who enrolled at the prestigious Conegliano Wine School. After the Second World War, the sight of the abandoned vines led to Giulano’s desire to bring them back to life and make Prosecco become a prestigious sparkling wine. As a master of the Martinotti-Charmat method and great experimenter, he eventually created the first Prosecco Brut in 1960. Today, Giuliano’s wife and his four daughters are at the helm of the estate. Together they have invested a great deal of energy and resources into ensuring quality and maintaining the company’s strong links to the land and its history. From their sense of responsibility as a leading producer of Prosecco Superiore and also fruit of a project for the creation of sustainable agriculture, Bortolomiol is experimenting with a new approach to growing – organic agriculture – in their own vineyards in the heart of Valdobbiadene. This is because they understand that the land must be protected so as to be passed on to future generations in the best possible health. Originally the banda rossa or Red Band was a mark that the founder, Giuliano Bortolomiol ,put only on bottles containing the best Extra Dry of the year. These were the bottles that were kept for real friends, those who shared his passion for the land, tradition and good wine. That special Prosecco that Giuliano marked has, since 1986, had its own label and signifies the quality of the best wines from the Bortolomiol winery.
