Château Beychevelle 2007

Availability: In stock

The colour is a deep ruby of remarkable density, a precursor of fine maturity and richness. Fruit aromas of cherries, black fruit and blueberry dominate the nose. Woody notes are perceptible, but not over powering. In the mouth there is a freshness on the attack, hints of black fruit, cherries; the structure is elegant, the tannins mature and silky. This wine is very clear, direct but highly appealing with no harshness or austerity. It has density, balance and fleshiness. The length builds into a long, delicious finish. Maturing will allow this wine to develop even more numerous and complex nuances of aroma and taste, making it even more attractive with age.

Chateau Beychevelle 2007
More information:
Château Beychevelle is a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé located in the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux. This Chateau which has been built in the 17th century and restructured by the Marquis de Brassier in 1757 is one of the most prestigious châteaux in Bordeaux making powerful, fine and elegant wines. Beychevelle is called the "Versailles of the Médoc" as a tribute to the château's elegant classical architecture and French gardens. It was the fiefdom of the Ducs d’Epernon during the reign of Henry III. The French Grand Admiral and first duke Jean Louis Nogaret de la Valette is at the origin of the château’s name. According to the legend, all ships had to lower their sails as they sailed past the château in homage to its powerful owner. It was first named “Baisse-Voile”, meaning “Lowering Sail” and finally changed to “Beychevelle”. The château is involved in environment protection and health, which made it earn both Sustainable Agriculture and Terra Vitis certification in 2005.

"“A strong effort in this mid-weight, charming vintage, this potential sleeper of the vintage exhibits deep black raspberry, blackcurrant, and floral notes, a sweet entry on the palate, ripe tannin, low acidity, and a round, generous mouth-feel."” – 89 Points, Robert Parker
