- 100% Chenin Blanc
Although new, Domaine FL is attracting considerable critical acclaim in France and in the UK. As expected from a combination of fine sites (all of which are either organic or in conversion) and meticulous winemaking, the quality of the wines is exceptionally high. Loire fanatic Philippe Fournier founded Domaine FL after acquiring Domaine Jo Pithon (in 2005) and Château de Chamboreau (in 2006).
He kept the original team in place, led by cellarmaster Hugues Daubercies, but asked respected winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt to advise. Domaine FL’s 39 hectares of vineyards are located in some of the Loire’s most prized sites. Twenty one hectares cover Anjou, Coteaux du Layon and Quarts de Chaume, while 18 hectares line the slopes of the small hill of Epiré in Savennières, including four hectares in the highly-prized cru, ‘Roche-aux-Moines’.
