More information:

The grapes for this wine come from the eastern part of Puglia in the Taranto region.  The bush trained vines are planted in low vigour soils. The grapes were handpicked to ensure careful selection.

The winemakers selected the fruit from the best parcels on the estate, ensuring ripeness but no shrivelling. Grapes were collected by hand, then fermented at cool temperatures to retain freshness and checked the tank daily to ensure they didn‘t extract too much tannin. Part of the blend was aged in oak to add complexity. Once ageing was finished, the blend was put together and the wine was shipped to Verona.

"Substantial fruit and tannin on the palate, good balance and length, a bit of style here." - Raymond Blake, Food&Wine Magazine, January/February 2016

"Good and grippy with a delicious, elegant backbone of baked fruit crumble, spicy and charming, needs food." - Martina Delaney, Food&Wine Magazine, January/February 2016

"Restrained nose, some nice black fruits on the palate, drying tannins on the sweet finish." - David Whelehan, Food&Wine Magazine, January/February 2016
