Bright and intense garnet with dark purple undertones. The rich and complex bouquet starts with plums, cassis, and violets that intermingle with aromas of blackberries and dried flowers. The palate begins with round and elegant ripe plum and floral notes, becoming bold, rich and flavourful. Velvety tannins are nicely balanced by a smooth texture and refreshing acidity.

Le Clos Jordanne’s unwavering goal is to create Ontario Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of unparalleled quality that rank amongst the world’s finest.  Their wines have garnered much critical acclaim since they were launched in 2006. Based in the town of Jordan Station on the Niagara Peninsula, Le Clos Jordanne is a joint venture between Vincor Canada and Boisset France.

When Jean-Charles Boisset started discussions about this project, he soon realised that the poor state of viticulture in most of the Niagara escarpment meant that he would have to plant his own vineyards.  He saw the potential of the terroir here and created the vineyards in 1998. Le Clos Jordanne achieved organic certification in Autumn 2005, following a three year accreditation process and are strongly committed to the principles of biodynamic viticulture.  The estate owns four distinct vineyards – Le Clos Jordanne, Claystone, La Petit and Talon – which are planted exclusively with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and total 30 hectares.  The soils and climate here are similar to the Côte d’Or and Le Clos Jordanne use traditional Burgundian methods, such as high density planting, hand harvesting and hand sorting of grapes, to achieve more concentration, complexity and flavour in the wines.
