A Pèl is a Xarello single-varietal, the grapes come from vineyards planted in Finca Can Mayol at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. "A pel" in Catalan means "uncovered". Natural, unprotected, uncovered.
In the case of A Pèl Xarel·lo, this wine is about as natural as they come. Organic, biodynamic, wild yeast fermentation, extended skin contact, unfiltered and unfined with no added sulphites.
An 'orange' wine as a result of the extended contact, it is darker in colour and has mild tannins that you wouldn't expect in a traditional white wine. Because it is unfiltered and unfined, it is also cloudy.
A good pairing for foods that are otherwise almost impossible to match such as spicy food or other acidic foods such as tomatoes.
