Cour-Cheverny white wine, produced solely from the Romorantin grape, is grown only in this tiny pocket of the Loire Valley and is the greatest passion of wine maker Laura Semeria.

An intense nose and with notes of rhubarb and herbs. The palate is fresh and elegant with citrus character alongside hints of hazelnut and a pleasant salinity. A very balanced wine with great length and vibrant acidity.

A native of Liguria, in north-eastern Italy, Laura Semeria never dreamed she’d end up making wine in the heart of France. It was only after a trip to Cheverny, where she fell in love with the local variety romorantin (the grape used in Cour-Cheverny AOP), that the idea began to take hold. She took over the 20-hectare Domaine de Montcy estate in 2007 and immediately began converting it to organic viticulture. She now produces reds from pinot noir, gamay and cot, and whites from sauvignon blanc and chardonnay, but romorantin remains her passion, and today she is one of only a handful producers within the tiny Cour-Cheverny appellation.
