René Muré Clos St. Landelin Riesling

The Domaine du Clos Saint Landelin, owned by the Muré family, is located in Rouffach in the South of Alsace and covers an area of 28 hectares. The vineyard is farmed with traditional ploughing, using biodynamic methods which reflect the respect the family has for the terroir. The Clos Saint Landelin is a monopoly of 12 hectares with southern exposed terraces. The work in the cellar is minimalist and traditional: fermentation with natural yeast and maturation on fine lees. Nowadays, Véronique and Thomas Muré, the 12th generation, are responsible for running the estate.

"One of the dry riesling stars of the 2019 vintage in Alsace, this wine marries the power and massive structure we associate with these wines to a stunning vitality that makes this as uplifting as it is impressive. Amazing concentration of lemon curd, stone fruit and chalky minerality right through the diamond-bright long finish. It has massive structure and power. It’s made from grapes grown biodynamically on a south-facing, terraced section of the grand cru vineyard Vorbourg, has amazing fruit concentration, a chalky minerality and a long, diamond-bright finish. It’s probably the best dry white that Thomas and Veronique Muré have made, according to Senior Editor Stuart Pigott, and it also finished as the No. 7 wine on our  Top 100 Wines of France list and No. 26 on our Top 100 Wines of The World list" 98 points, Top 100 Best Value Wines In The World, James Suckling
