Villemarin Picpoul de Pinet

Availability: In stock

Pale lemon yellow colour with a nose expressing floral and fruity aromas with citrus notes. On the palate it shows green apple flavours with a crisp dry finish. A very nice acidity.

More information:

This Picpoul de Pinet is produced by the Cave de l‘Ormarine. The vineyards are located in the Coteaux du Languedoc area near Montpellier, just a few miles from the Mediterranean coast and more precisely along the pond of Thau.

Cave de l’Ormarine emerged in 1992 from the Producers’ Association that was already producing wine since 1923, when 53 producers decided to create this Cooperative.

Silver Medal, Concours Général Paris

Best White (4 stars)  - "Picpoul has been called the 'Muscadet of the Midi' - one taste of this and you will see why. The Villemarin Picpoul de Pinet 2013 is lean 'n' clean and deliciously refreshing, providing ample proof that big 'n' blousy has had its day.  We say hurray for that." - Food & Wine Magazine, January 2015

"Deep yellow colour, mineral and stony nose, quite lean at first but lovely big flavours coming back on the aftertaste, slightly green but with apricot on the finish." -Thomas Pinoncely, Food & Wine Magazine, January 2015

"Bright, pale gold, not yielding a lot on the nose, much more interest on the palate, good tingle of fruit and acid, very clean and pleasant." - Raymond Blake, Food & Wine Magazine, January 2015
