Colome Estate Malbec

Availability: In stock

Deep bright red colour with a magenta hue. Aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants, raspberries and cherries, and the floral scent of violets abound on its complex nose, with hints of spices and minerals. In the mouth, it is fruity and fresh, with a succulent and muscular structure, with velvety tannins. Its finish is fine and delicate, yet very long.

More information:
Founded in 1831, Bodega Colomé is one of the oldest wineries in Argentina. In 2001 it was bought by Donald Hess whose vision was to produce terroir driven wines at the highest elevations in the world. The vines are located in the Upper Calchaquí Valley, North-Western Argentina, which is considered to be the highest altitude viticulture region in the world, between 2,300 and 3,111 metres above sea level.

"Rippling with firm, concentrated, sweet/sour blackcurrant fruits, finishing with some firm dry tannins. Superb wine. Drink it with red meat, grilled or roast would do very nicely. " - John Wilson, Wilson on Wine 2016

Wine of the Year - Arguably the highest vineyard in the world produces a ripe yet muscular Malbec with a dry finish - John Wilson, The Irish Times , 2nd November 2013
