Mitchells Wine Guild is a society for people with a keen interest in wine, and with to learn more about the subject in a very practical, and informal setting. Through the Guild, members can avail of lectured tastings, wine trips, and discounted prices.

Upon application, Mitchell and Son set up an account for each member, who pays a sum by Standing Order each month (€65.00 minimum). This money can be used to purchase wine at your leisure. As there is absolutely no obligation to spend all the money in your account monthly, it can be built up gradually and spent on En Primeur wines for keeping, or on a trip to Bordeaux on one of our wine tours, or your Christmas wine.

Numerous tasting events are organised during the year for our members, and where possible, these events include guest speakers such as visiting wine makers associated with Mitchells are invited to address the group. Over the years we have had some very informative and enjoyable evenings in the company of such personalities as Hugues Delacour from Chateau de la Cour in Saint Emilion, Xavier and Jerome Garnier from Domaine Garnier in Chablis, Jacques and Laura Sipp from Domaine Sipp Mack, Elena Pasquazzo from Mezzacorona and Ian Miller from Kaimira Estate in New Zealand. These events are sociable, relaxed and informal and members are more than welcome to bring a guest along for the evening. After the tasting, members have an opportunity to order the wines featured at 15% off the regular retail price.

The Wine Guild account can be used to purchase wines from our two shops, in Kildare Street and Glasthule; or when you order by phone, fax or email for delivery. For these purchases we offer a 10% discount off the regular retail price.

Our Wine Guild members are given priority when booking places on our wine tours. These tours tend to fill very quickly when advertised, so the Wine Guild is given the opportunity of booking places before the public is. Members are also given good notice of our annual En Primeur list, and are given priority on the wines offered.
