The Spanish Albariño, or the Portuguese Alvarinho is a grape indigenous to the Iberian peninsula. Predominantly used for single varietal wines it can also be found in Portugal’s increasingly popular Vinho Verde blend. Albariño is a lovely, light bodied, dry white known for its subtle saltiness and loved for it’s dazzlingly refreshing citrus flavors.
Most famously grown in Galicia, Albariño can also be found in regions across the world including California, Argentina, New Zealand, and even Uruguay.
