Almacenistas are independent sherry artisans who have historically been producing and ageing small stocks of Sherry. For decades Lustau has led a revolutionary project: bottling a small range of these authentic wines unblended, preserving their genuineness.
This Bodega was established by Mr. Cayetano del Pino y Vázquez in 1886 and rapidly became a prominent sherry exporter. Opposite to other Almacenistas as Lustau, Cayetano del Pino started as a sherry shipper and finally decided to downscale production in the 1970’s and become a craft sherry producer. Today, the company continues to produce widely admired Amontillados and Palo Cortados.
The Solera of this Palo Cortado comprises only 22 casks and it’s aged in the winery that Cayetano del Pino owns in Jerez de la Frontera.
Old gold in colour with amber reflections. Very bright and clean. A delicate yet pungent nose, with almond-like aromas that remind of its biological ageing phase. Velvety and round on the palate. Its endless aftertaste has a comforting bitterness that leaves the palate clean and ready for more.
