Tyrconnell 10 year old Madiera Finish Irish Single Malt, is a double-distilled Single Malt from the Cooley Distillery in Co.Louth, now operating as the Kilbeggan Distilling Company. The brand was originally founded by Andrew A.Watt & Co in the 1900's, named after a horse which came in at 100-1. The brand was then rejuvenated by John Teeling during his days in The Cooley Distillery, eventually releasing 3 cask finishes.

This expression was initially aged in ex-bourbon casks, and finished in Madeira casks, a fortified wine from the island of Madeira. On the nose, this whiskey delivers soft sweet caramel, turning to dried fruit, toasted nuts and crisp tropical fruit. The palate is full of flavour, dried apricot, crisp rich fruit, and an array of spices. Extremely well balanced, with a fruitful finish. A fantastic expression from the Kilbeggan Distilling Company portfolio.

Tyrconnell 10 year old Madeira Finish Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Old mash tuns and fermenters are still in their original positions and the new Kilbeggan malt spirit flows from ancient pot stills – one of which is over 186 years old. Kilbeggan is the quintessential Irish whiskey distillery, with whitewashed walls, weathered slate roof, brick chimney stack, creaking timber water wheel and even regular ghost sightings.
