The F-Series wines represent an alternative approach to the varieties within the core Framingham range – staying true to their style, but with room for innovation.
A strictly limited edition, the F-Series allows head winemaker Andrew and his team the flexibility to experiment with wine making techniques and create small batch wines that capture the essence of each vintage, resulting in some of Marlborough’s most exciting wines.
Hand-picked fruit from Framingham's Wairau estate vineyard was subjected to several different treatments. 20% of the wine was fermented on skins as with red winemaking; one parcel was given some skin contact before pressing and another was whole bunch pressed. The wine was all spontaneously fermented, 70% in barrels and puncheons, 30% stainless steel. The wine was on full lees for 10 months and the barrel portion was aged for 10 months before the final wine was blended and bottled.
