Beautiful redcurrant and strawberry flavours abound in this wine that balances lightness of weight with purity of fruit flavour. Smooth tannins and bright acidity make for a delicious and versatile wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of different foods.

Domaine de la Madone Beaujolais-Villages

Jean-Marc and Maryse Despres own 13 hectares on the renowned hillside of la Madone in the village of Fleurie. This hillside is often considered by connoisseurs to have the best growing conditions for wine in the area. It is blessed with exceptional sunshine and the soil is composed of pink granite, highly suited to growing the Gamay grape variety. This domaine has been cultivated by the Despres family for five generations.

The grapevines are cultivated with carefully managed intervention to ensure the highest quality while respecting the environment. Great efforts are currently going into the management of the vines to improve the development of the grapes and reduce the use of chemicals and pesticides. The grapes are hand-picked and rigorously sorted to keep only the ripest and healthiest. Wines are naturally fermented using wild yeasts.
