The Clos Rousseau comes from 3 parcels whose vines are all over thirty years of age: Les Fourneaux (planted in 1914), Le Grand Clos Rousseau (1980) and Le Petit Clos Rousseau (1955).
Les Clos and Les Fourneaux are highly complementary. The Grand and Petit Clos give the wine its mineral structure with the vines just skimming the limestone bedrock. With its pronounced, very fine and elegant, red fruit character, Les Fourneaux is where our oldest vines grow. These deep soils bring an exceptional wealth of mature, silky tannins and very ripe, black fruit aromas.
The three cuvées are vinified separately seeking to achieve the perfect balance between structure, elegance and aromatic complexity. This is a fruity, concentrated and ethereal wine.
