An incredible deep purple colour with an abundance of fruits and already showing an appealing soft roundness. Incredibly soft tannins supported by a wonderful acidity that provides a remarkably long finish.
"Lashings of blackberry and liquorice, dark chocolate with a core of freshness. This was the point at which Fonplégade started to hit it out of the park. You would think it was a 2015 or a 2016 given its generosity and finesse. Brilliantly judged oak too, which is not always the case in St-Emilion. Organic and biodynamic." 94 points, Jane Anson, Decanter Magazine, June 2019
"A well-crafted and refined red with plums, raspberries and hints of minerals. Precise and polished. Full body, fine tannins and a long finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Better in 2018." 92 points, James Suckling
"A slightly pumped-up style, with ample toast and warm fruitcake notes leading the way, revealing a core of plum and raspberry coulis flavors. Lightly firm toast lines the finish, but there's good briary energy underneath as well. For fans of powerful wines. Best from 2016 through 2022." 90 points, Wine Spectator
