'A very deep purple/garnet colour. There is certainly good fruit concentration on the nose without signs of greenness although it is lacking the definition that it showed during primeur. Quite floral, with violets coming through. Very soft on the entry, almost lush in the mouth, very fleshy, pure and caressing. Very feminine. It firms up a little in the mouth, those tannins coming through on the finish, which has good grip and weight. Very unresolved but it has the component parts and I look forward to tasting this after bottling. Drink 2012-2025. Tasted September 2008.' 93 points (2007 vintage), Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

'Much darker than the above and still some fresh dark fruit on the nose – even some cassis. Firm, dark and chewy on the palate. Honest and grounded, an impressively harmonious whole. Still pretty firm in texture and a longer life than most.'16 points (2007 vintage), Jancis Robinson.
