The ‘BruEmm' is a single vineyard bottling of Falanghina from Ciro Picariello’s estate in Campania. The wine is named for his children, Bruno and Emma. Notes of apple and lemon zest, with a strong mineral character, great complexity, and a very long finish. Pairs with all kinds of seafood or roasted light meats.

Cult winery Picariello makes some of the best and most age worthy fiano in Italy. More recently falanghina and greco vines have been planted, completing the trifecta of Campanian white varieties.

With vineyards in the prized Summonte and Montefredana areas in the Avellino region – distinctly cool-climate, high-elevation areas – Picariello’s hands-off approach to winemaking allows the nuances of the vineyards to reveal themselves. In youth, the fiano shows typical bright lemon and white peach flavours with a distinct mineral cut from the volcanic soils, but with a bit of age it develops waxy, honeyed aromas and a toasted hazelnut character. With wines like this, it’s easy to see why Campania is Italy’s greatest white wine region.
