Domaine Ponsot 'Chapelle-Chambertin' Grand Cru 2021

Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, Laurent Ponsot has run the estate since 1983. He spends most of his time in the vineyard. For him, healthy grapes are the most important component in the making of very good wine. In general, the beginning of his harvest starts later than his neighbouring producers. He waits until the grape has reached full maturity and  sometimes even longer. He has only one rule in his vinification process: not to follow any rules. His wines are powerful, rich with a lot of flavours and aromas.

'Wafting from the glass with notes of dark berries, orange zest, spices and red fruit compote, the 2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, its satiny attack segueing into a layered, concentrated core of fruit and a long, saline finish.' 94 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
