The nose is vibrant and fresh with a black cherry, damson fruit and cedar profile. The palate is medium bodied and soft with an understated black fruit backbone. Perfumed and aromatic. Good, ripe concentrated texture. An excellent accompaniment to any meal. Try with braised pork shoulder and roasted root vegetables.

The history of Domaine de la Potardière spans 5 generations and the Domaine is located on the slopes of the Butte de la Roche in the commune of Loroux-Bottereau, in the heart of the Nantes vineyards. It is on this naturally sloping land that the vines of Domaine de la Potardière are pampered to produce wines of character & complexity. The vineyard benefits from an oceanic climate, ideal for the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety, used for Muscadet since the 17th century. The soils are essentially composed of granites and metamorphic rocks (schists, gneiss, orthogneiss) and gabbro which have generated amphibolite and in particular serpentinite. All stages of the production of the Domaine’s wines, from planting the vines to bottling, including the ageing of the wines, take place on the estate which practices sustainable production and is HVE certified.
