A refined and aromatic expression of white Saint-Joseph, Guy Farge’s ‘Vania’ is crafted primarily from Marsanne with a touch of Roussanne, sourced from vines rooted in the steep, granite-rich hillsides above the Rhône. The wine combines generosity and freshness in equal measure — aromas of acacia blossom, pear, and white peach mingle with hints of honey, almond, and a whisper of flint.

On the palate, it’s textured and elegant, with a rounded mouthfeel balanced by a clean mineral line that carries through to a long, subtly spiced finish. Aged partly in oak for nuance and depth, ‘Vania’ is both supple and vibrant, ideal with roast poultry, creamy seafood dishes, or soft cheeses.

Guy Farge is a respected grower-producer based in the village of Saint-Jean-de-Muzols in the northern Rhône. His family has cultivated vines in the region for several generations, originally supplying grapes to the great négociants of Tain-l’Hermitage before Guy decided to bottle his own wines in the 1990s. Today, the estate covers around 20 hectares across Saint-Joseph, Cornas, and Condrieu, with vineyards clinging to precipitous, terraced slopes.

Farge’s philosophy is rooted in minimal intervention and respect for terroir — hand-harvesting, indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction, and restrained oak use. The result is a collection of wines that balance authenticity and finesse, expressing the rugged beauty of the Rhône Valley through a craftsman’s touch.
