Colline de l'Hirondelle 'Cocolico'

Cocolico was named by 4-year old Lili who was trying to pronounce 'poppy' (coquelicot). Deep ruby colour with violet highlights. Smooth and balanced with surprising raspberry, red fruit and warm tobacco-leaf notes.

"Bright crimson. Powerful, well-integrated nose and fruit with real vigour. This is just the sort of wine that the western Languedoc is so good at. (Just) not too much alcohol. Real energy here. (The wicked thought occurs to me: is it because there is no Carignan that I like this so much?!) Already a rewarding drink but there is quite a bit of ripe tannin lurking underneath the copious fruit." 16.5+/20 (2017 vintage), Jancis Robinson.
