Method & Madness Single Malt Irish Whiskey, a 14 year Old Single Malt, distilled by Midleton's Master of Whiskey Science, David Quinn, at the Bushmills Distillery in 2002. It had initially been aged in Ex-Bourbon casks, before 40% of the liquid was taken and further matured in Virgin Limousin Oak casks from France. On the nose, their are clear elements of the Malt spirit, with soft Malt spices intertwined in wood essence. The palate, is sophisticated, lots of cereal tones, great body, almost reminiscent of a Speyside Malt. The Limousin oak rides a wave of sweetness and spice, creating an enhanced palate which could be a stand out in the Single Malt category. Superb length of flavour, a great addition to the Irish Single Malt Category.

With a distilling history dating back to the 19th century, Midleton’s renowned bounty has been said to have drawn whiskey into being.

From its beginnings on the banks of the crystalline Dungourney River, Midleton Distillery’s links with the land run deep and long.

Of course whiskey is also the lifeblood of a people and their aspirations. And this town has always been a pioneering community, from the moment the Murphy family started to distil here in 1825.
