Powers John's Lane, is a 12 year old Single Pot Still expression which took the world by storm upon release. It is aged in a selection of ex-bourbon, ex-oloroso sherry and Iberian oak casks, which creates a full-flavoured whiskey with tonnes of layers and arguably the best Powers released to date. An attempt to recreate the earthier old Powers Pot Still style. Named after the address of the original Powers Distillery where a two of the giant old pot stills rest. Entirely composed of pure pot still whiskeys from the Midleton distillery that have been aged for between 12 and 14 years. Pale gold/bronze colour. Distinct cocoa and mocha overtones on the nose with hints of dried apricots, orange peel and marshmallow. At full strength it is surprising soft and smooth, with elements of tropical fruits and spice throughout

With a distilling history dating back to the 19th century, Midleton’s renowned bounty has been said to have drawn whiskey into being.

From its beginnings on the banks of the crystalline Dungourney River, Midleton Distillery’s links with the land run deep and long.

Of course whiskey is also the lifeblood of a people and their aspirations. And this town has always been a pioneering community, from the moment the Murphy family started to distil here in 1825.
