Tyrconnel 10 year old Port Finish Single Malt, is a double-distilled Irish single malt produced by The Kilbeggan Distilling Company. This is One of 3 cask finish expression in the ranges.

As with the other expressions, this whiskey has been initially matured in ex-bourbon casks and the finished in ex-port casks. The flavour profile of this whiskey again follows suit with maturation, their are darker tones than the sherry finish. A much nuttier expression, which still retains the fruitful style of the Tyrconnell range.

On the nose, there are aromas of sweet fruit, toasted nuts and soft spice. Noticeably rich and dark in style. The palate follows suit with dried fruit and a distinct port style dry sweetness, with notes of toffee and oak spice. Not an overly aggressive whiskey, sweet and balanced.

Old mash tuns and fermenters are still in their original positions and the new Kilbeggan malt spirit flows from ancient pot stills – one of which is over 186 years old. Kilbeggan is the quintessential Irish whiskey distillery, with whitewashed walls, weathered slate roof, brick chimney stack, creaking timber water wheel and even regular ghost sightings.
