Elvio Cogno Barolo “Cascina Nuova” is the estate’s approachable yet polished expression of Barolo, crafted from south-facing, 20 year old Nebbiolo vines. Aged 24 months in large Slavonian oak and 6 months in bottle.

This expressive Barolo reveals radiant aromas of strawberry, forest floor, violet and hints of  smoke . On the palate, medium-bodied elegance unfolds with vibrant acidity and ultra-fine tannins carrying a mix of red currant, cherry, herbal nuances, and earthy spice. 

A refined and approachable Barolo that delivers classic Nebbiolo charm with enough structure for aging through 2040, yet provides immediate enjoyment now with richer dishes, roasted game, or truffle-infused cuisine.

Nebbiolo is one of Italy’s most noble grape varieties, best known as the backbone of Barolo and Barbaresco in Piedmont. Renowned for its pale garnet colour yet remarkable depth, it produces wines of striking aromatic complexity, often showing notes of rose, violet, red cherry, tar, and earthy spice. On the palate, Nebbiolo is distinguished by firm tannins and bright acidity, giving it exceptional ageing potential. Though challenging to grow, requiring the right soils and exposures, Nebbiolo rewards patience and craftsmanship with wines that balance elegance, power, and longevity.
