Classic Rioja character meets a polished, modern touch in Hacienda López de Haro Crianza 2022. Built around Tempranillo with Garnacha and Graciano, it offers ripe cherry, blackberry and plum layered with vanilla, cocoa, liquorice and gentle spice from barrel ageing. The palate is smooth and generous, with Tempranillo providing structure while the oak maturation brings a rounded, velvety texture. Freshness keeps the ripe fruit beautifully balanced, leading to an elegant, savoury finish. An excellent all round Rioja with enough complexity to interest serious wine drinkers while remaining immediately approachable. Serve with roast lamb, grilled meats, chorizo, tapas or mature cheeses. The producer currently confirms 2022 as the current Crianza release.

Tempranillo

Tempranillo is also known as Ull de Llebre, Cencibel, Tinto Fino and Tinta del Pais in Spain, Aragonez, Aragonês or Tinta Roriz in Portugal, among several other synonyms. It is a black grape variety widely grown to make full-bodied red wines in the Iberian Peninsula.
