Fresh, elegant and gently aromatic, Pietro Zardini ‘Pietro Junior’ Lugana is made from 100% Turbiana, the local grape traditionally known as Trebbiano di Lugana. Grown close to the southern shores of Lake Garda, it offers ripe peach, citrus and orchard fruit alongside delicate white flowers and a subtle mineral character. The palate has lovely weight without feeling heavy, with bright acidity and a lightly saline finish adding freshness and length. Matured without oak to preserve its purity and fruit, this is an immensely versatile northern Italian white, equally enjoyable as an aperitif or with seafood, grilled fish, risotto, fresh pasta and white meats.

A family producer based in the historic Valpolicella Classica area near Verona, with family winemaking roots stretching back several generations. Today Pietro Zardini represents the fifth generation, producing both the traditional reds of Valpolicella and wines such as Pietro Junior Lugana. The emphasis here is on preserving Turbiana's natural freshness and character, with fermentation and maturation in stainless steel rather than oak.

Turbiana is the distinctive white grape at the heart of Lugana and is closely related to Trebbiano di Soave. It combines citrus and stone fruit flavours with floral aromas, lively acidity and a characteristic mineral, sometimes slightly saline quality. Its ability to develop texture while retaining freshness makes it particularly well suited to the vineyards surrounding Lake Garda.
