Produced by Dandy de Cidro in the dramatic terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, Douro Tinto 2023 is a rich yet balanced red with vibrant fruit and structure. Notes of blackberry, dark cherry and wild herbs are layered with subtle spice, leading into a smooth, medium to full bodied palate with supple tannins and a long, savoury finish. Expressive and food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roast lamb, hearty stews or mature cheeses.

Quinta do Infantado has been owned by the Roseira family for well over a century. In 1979, it became the first Port producer to start bottling its wines on the estate in the Douro, rather than in Vila Nova de Gaia. The name ‘Infantado’ derives from ‘Infante’ (the Portuguese for ‘heir to the throne’) and it was the Portuguese royal family who first built the winery in 1816, as a place where they could collect taxes in the form of grapes and wine brought to them by the local growers. João Roseira now looks after the vineyards and oversees the winemaking.

Tinta Roriz

Tempranillo is also known as Ull de Llebre, Cencibel, Tinto Fino and Tinta del Pais in Spain, Aragonez, Aragonês or Tinta Roriz in Portugal, among several other synonyms. It is a black grape variety widely grown to make full-bodied red wines in the Iberian Peninsula.
