The 2021 Domaine Ponsot Gevrey-Chambertin 'Cuvée de l’Abeille' presents perfumed aromas with notes of Morello cherry, rose petals, hints of orange blossom, and incense. On the palate, it is mid-weighted with good breadth, featuring red fruit flavours such as cherry, complemented by spice and earthy undertones. The finish is youthful, balancing floral and herbal notes, and leans more towards savoury than ferrous or meaty. This wine is expected to drink well from 2024 to 2030.

Laurent Ponsot has run the estate since 1983. He spends most of his time in the vineyard. For him, healthy grapes are the most important component in the making of very good wine. In general, the beginning of his harvest starts later than his neighbouring producers. He waits until the grape has reached full maturity and sometimes even longer. He has only one rule in his vinification process: not to follow any rules. His wines are powerful, rich with a lot of flavours and aromas.
