Giannikos 'Windmill' Malagouzia

A nearly extinct grape variety until its re-discovery in the 1970s, Malagouzia is now widely planted and has become one of Greece's most successful white wines.

Giannikos is organic certified and takes great care throughout the entire process. Grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a constant low temperature resulting in lively, fresh wines.

An exceptionally expressive nose of white-flesh fruits such as pears, apples and peach) complemented by floral perfume and herbs and zingy citrus fruits - lemon, lime and grapefruit. Perfectly balanced and fresh. A great match for seafood, poultry, light-sauced pasta dishes and fresh vegetable salads.

"This wine has spritely grapefruit, lemon and pear tones but plenty of complexity and structure, too. Layers of flavor and acidity unfold on the palate, making it a wine for contemplation and savoring. It finishes with a touch of apricot." 90 points (2018 vintage), Wine Enthusiast.
