Originally founded in the 1950s, Jacques Cacheux is a relatively small estate which produces outstanding red Burgundy. The domaine has currently seven hectares of vines spread across the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Echézeaux and Nuits-St-Georges. This 2018 expression is from the ‘Les Chalandins’ vineyard in the north-east of the appellation. A textbook Vosne-Romanée, which is drinking well now and will do so into the late 2020s.
This is a beautifully elegant and succulent expression of Vosne-Romanée. It dances delicately across the palate with red cherry and blackberry flavours, and just a touch of tobacco and lavender perfume.
