Le Chant du Coq Rouge

A brand-new wine made by the Taaibosch team, this is a Bordeaux-style blend with a double twist: some Helderberg syrah and a splash of sangiovese bring freshness and a touch of olive tapenade to the more classic graphite notes, with fine tannin grip on the finish.

The intertwining of French flair and South African determination, Le Chant is a collaboraton between the Oddo family, Willie Joubert (a fifth-generation vigneron from the Polkadraai who manages the farm), and Taaibosch winemakers Schalk-Willem Joubert and Petri Venter. Le Chant is situated on what was formerly four separate properties, the centre of which was known as Eikenhof, a wine farm in Stellenbosch’s Polkadraai Hills.
