This wine has a pomegranate robe, bright and vibrant. An expressive nose, it is spicy, aromatic and complex with mentholated notes. Fine woody and stone fruit notes emerge when the wine is aerated. The palate, after a vivid attack, evolves into a pleasant texture - succulent and full-bodied with notes of red fruits and a mellow woodiness.

This beautifully complex wine lends itself to any number of possible pairings, especially with red meat, either grilled or accompanied by rich sauces, as well as chocolate desserts.

On a winding country road, just to the north-west of the village of Saint-Émilion, stands Château Yon-Figeac. Built in 1886, the château is a classic example of the region’s architectural style: a limestone house flanked by 24 hectares of vines. Today it is recognised as one of the leading properties of the appellation, in terms of both its size and the quality of its wines.

The wines of Château Yon-Figeac are fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel vats. Once fermentation is complete, the various batches are aged separately in the barrel cellar. The wines that will make up our Grand Vin (first wine) are aged exclusively in French oak barrels. Those destined for the estate’s second wine are aged in foudres (large casks) to limit the impact of the oak on the wine’s flavours and aromatic profile. The wines are left to age in barrel for around a year.
