Situated in the enchanting Cilento region of Campania, Italy, the Luigi Maffini wine estate is a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. The Maffini family's vinous adventure began in the 1970s with Luigi's father planting the first vines. However, it was in 1996 that Luigi and his wife Raffaella truly made their mark by bottling their inaugural wine, Kratos. The estate covers 37 acres across two distinct areas: the coastal vineyards near Castellabate and the hilly terrains of Giungano near Paestum. These diverse terroirs impart a unique minerality and elegance to their wines.

The estate is renowned for its use of indigenous grape varieties, particularly Fiano and Aglianico. Fiano, known for its aromatic complexity and vibrant acidity, thrives in the coastal vineyards, producing wines with notes of exotic fruits and a refreshing minerality. Aglianico, often referred to as the "Barolo of the South," is cultivated in the hilly terrains, yielding robust wines with deep ruby colour, rich tannins, and flavours of dark berries and spices.
