Deep, dark brown and viscous. Redolent of ripe fruit, figs and dates. Rich, sweet, velvety and soft in the mouth, well balanced, with a long finish showing the wine's great age.Serve between 12-13ºC in a white wine glass with rich desserts, cakes and pastries, or pour a little over the best quality vanilla ice cream. This wine can also accompany strong blue cheeses, or may simply be enjoyed as a digestif for the sweet-toothed.

Best Sweet Wine, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2010Gold Medal, International Wine Challenge 2013"With piercing aromas of raisin pudding, molasses and spice, this rolls out the welcome mat and more. Luscious is probably as tame as you can put it; this is a ribald sweet wine with acidic backbone and hugely intense flavors of baked brown sugar, cinnamon cake and molasses. Powerful but still racy due to bracing acidity. About as good as it gets with PX." 93 points, Wine Enthusiast, June 2009"Caramel brown in color, with the viscosity of motor oil, this is soft yet firm, carrying flavors of walnut, dried fig and burnt sugar. Sweet but not oppressively so, with a slightly bitter finish." -Wine Spectator, November 2011
