This wine has a big nose that is Meursault-like in its scale but without the oak, full of ripe fruit and fragrant wild flowers. On the palate it is dry and cutting on the back end but full and ripe up front. This all Mesnil, all estate Champagne really shows its class on the finish, which is very, very long for its low price. So good!
"Sliced apple, sweet berry, savoury nose; on the palate, youthful and persistent orchard fruit is finely sketched with hints of oyster shell for company. Tense and strident for now but oh so full of potential!" 90 points, Decanter Magazine, March 2017
"The NV (2010) Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Delos is a little richer, rounder and creamier than the Hugues de Coulmet. Almond, lemon, oil, dried pears and flowers all flesh out in a super-inviting gorgeous wine loaded with depth and personality. A creamy, expressive finish rounds things out in this gorgeous, beautiful Champagne. This is a fabulous showing from Moncuit." 93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
Pierre Moncuit-Delos Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne
"A fresh and creamy version, with a citrusy overtone to the subtle palate of biscuit, golden currant, smoke and slivered almond. Mouthwatering, presenting a lingering savory finish. Disgorged April 2013. Drink now through 2019." 90 points, Wine Spectator, November 2014"This a tight and mineral wine from Mesnil-sur-Oger in the heart of the Côte des Blancs of Champagne. It's still youthful, fresh and crisp, with lemon and tangy citrus flavors. The lively character will certainly round out in 5–6 years." 91 points, Wine Enthusiast, May 2013"Pale gold. Complex, expansive bouquet evokes candied citrus fruits, pear nectar, beeswax and jasmine, with a bright mineral flourish adding vivacity. On the palate, vibrant orchard and citrus fruit flavors flesh out and deepen with air while maintaining vivacity. The floral quality repeats on the finish, which shows superb clarity and lift and lingering stoniness." 92 points, Antonio Galloni, January 2015"From estate parcels in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, all 2010 fruit, this is a lively young blend with purity and clarity of expression. As it opens in the glass, it reveals delicate scents of apple blossoms, zesty pear-skin greenness and a pale integration of mineral acidity that makes it refreshing and delicious. The dosage is a little aggressive, but it's there to mellow the fierceness of the acidity, the wine likely best four or five years from release." 93 points, Wine & Spirits, December 2014
