Tres Patas Old Vine Garnacha

Tres Patas comes from old Grenache vineyards (more than 65 years old) in the Sierra de Gredos, a mountainous region at an altitude of more than 800 meters, amidst old holm oaks and junipers. Aromatic plants surround the vineyards, giving this wine its characteristic sous bois aroma. The climate is hot in the morning and cool in the evening, which is excellent for grape ripening.

Attractive and bright cherry color of medium intensity. The nose is very fragrant, fresh, floral and rich in nuances, with notes of Mediterranean garrigue, red fruits, minerality and very subtle spicy notes. In the mouth, it’s medium-bodied, with good volume, succulent, fleshy and very fresh. The finish is intense and refreshing, with good aromatic persistence.

"The 2018 Tres Patas is pure Garnacha from the village of El Real de San Vicente. It was fermented and foot trodden in 1,500-liter plastic bins, fermenting each of the five plots separately, and it aged in large oak barrels and was then blended. This feels serious, nuanced and complex, still young, possibly the most elegant and best vintage to date. It has restraint and balance, freshness and very supple flavors. It's long and dry, with fine granite minerality, which is a texture, not a flavor. Superb!" 93 points, Robert Parker
